I've selected 5 pieces to display for now. Click on each to see a slightly bigger version. They open up in new windows, so be aware!
This is an image done entirely in Photoshop. I wanted to create something I had never created and/or seen anywhere. I had no goal with this piece except to finish with something that looked attractive and un-like anything I had seen before.
I used many different pre-set Photoshop brushes as well as some I had made myself. It was a challenge picking which tools to use since I was not aware of what the end result would or should look like.
The image, in my opinion, has a warm feel to it which is something I'm proud of. I think it's fascinating to think that a digital image can evoke warmth.
I hope "The Abstract Bear" warms you up just a little bit.
This is a heavily Photoshopped image I took while driving down the Gardness Expressway in Toronto. It was a day covered with clouds where the sun barely made an appearance. This is one of of those times.
With this piece, I attempted to show how light in an othewise dark day, can make a world of difference. The image is approximately 50% white. This is the sun making itself known. The sun is battling the bottom half of the image which is almosty entirely black.
There are no distinct features because I want the viewer to focus on the battle between light and dark.
As the title of the image implies, all of the different images that comprise this piece were taken in a window of 8-10 seconds. With this piece, I wanted to display the difference a few seconds can make. Everything is the same, but a little different at the same time.
I employed the use of many Photoshop tools to add a sense of time to the image. "Ripples in time" is a great way to explain the alterations I added to the image. The cropping and placement of the comprising images was inspired by comic strips, where each strip is a just one snippet of an event.
