Earth Hour Flash Application

For a school assignment, Charlotte and I were tasked with creating a Flash CD application that would create awareness for Earth Hour. Earth Hour is basically about everyone turning off their lights for an hour to conserve energy and save the planet. We ran with a "lights off" metaphor which is evidenced by rolling over the menu buttons.

At first, I was the designated techincal director while Charlotte was the designated creative director. We followed our roles in the beginning, but after a while, we found that by sharing the roles together we created a product that was made possible by employing iterative design the entire way through. For example: I would create something, Charlotte would take it home and improve it. Charlotte would then come in with something new, and then I would take it home and improve it. It worked out great.

Altough, this project worked well with this kind of process, I do value, and usually abide to, working in cooperation with a group where everyone has a duty and/or role they are responsible for. I'm a group worker, no matter how the group works.

Music Artist/Producer Website

Luma, a fictious artist/producer, needed a new site where she would be able to share her unique style and blend of music with everyone. This flash site had to match her unmatched personality.

From creating this site, I learned that consistency is extremely important in design. Once I knew exactly what Luma's image was, I created every single page with her image in mind. She loves black, red, and white colours and simple geometric shapes like lines. She likes to be mysterious and not exhibition her face to the public. I took all of this information and built the entire sight around it.

The music creation was my resonsibility for this fictitious artist. I'm a pianist, guitarist, and very amateurish drummer with many music creation software and instruments around me at all times, so writing the music came naturally.
